My true passion has always been building brand affinity.

I still get the greatest pleasure from strategizing, creating, developing and managing a smart and inspiring piece of communication, be it a TV, radio or print campaign/spot, a cleverly designed collateral piece, a compelling docu-social video, new product concepts or a successful digital campaign. But I know that great creative work can only be achieved when it comes from a sound creative platform and strategy, a simple yet effective message and a unique, entertaining and compelling execution, often achieved by a team with a great creative leader who can nurture, challenge, encourage and participate- all along the way. This is where I excel.

As a Creative Director, my first reaction is to think all about the message. Is it strategic? Is relevant to the demo? Is it original and breakthrough? How is the brand story told? What is the tone? These are all questions that every creative should ask first.

Creative Directors should inspire, lead, manage, fight the good fights, be client and budget conscience, and most importantly, direct creative in the best possible direction. To me it doesn’t matter if the platform is social, digital broadcast, print, radio, outdoor or experiential. The message has to come first…platform determines how, when and where the story is told, but smart, clever and strategic creative always should always dictate and frame the message.

I am a Creative Director who not only knows how to create and develop great concepts into great executions, but I know how to manage, evaluate, and inspire creative teams. I have successfully worked with account managers and clients. I have gained respect from both.

My Story

I started my own creative advertising consultancy, Fusion Idea Lab Inc., after 11 years as a VP/Creative Director at DDB/Chicago. To date, Fusion Idea Lab has generated gross revenues exceeding $59 million. I have more than 20 years of creating, producing and managing national, award-winning advertising/marketing campaigns across all medias (hundreds of national TV, radio, print and digital campaigns-including 11 Super Bowl spots). My strengths include building results-driven creative strategic platforms, effective execution of those platforms through final production, client management, inspired (creative) team leadership, superior business acumen, award winning commercial branded production and design skills, revenue generation, budget management, and product positioning and branding.

REED’S GINGER BREWS

The Challenge In 2014, Reed’s Ginger Brews, one of fastest growing organic, all-natural ginger beers, came to Oberman/Fusion wanting to create a national presence in the market place, boast sales, increase awareness and widen their appeal to Wall Street. The Solution Oberman/Fusion wrote and produced Reed’s first-ever national TV campaign and partnered with their in-house digital department to create and broaden their digital and social footprint. MEZZACORONA WINES

The Challenge In 2010, Mezzacorona hired Oberman/Fusion as their sole US advertising agency, responsible for all U.S. advertising. They wanted to create more awareness and increase sales and distribution. Additionally, they desired a bigger presence in the growing pinot grigio market.
